Gear Guide

Succesful and safe climbing means you have to pay attention to your climbing gear.

First of all, you need to regularly check if your equipment is still top notch. If it looks unsafe, it probably is.

While you don’t need much more than climbing shoes and a bag of chalk for bouldering, rock climbers need a lot more gear.

Here’s a list of some of the climbing equipment that you will need at the very minimum:

  • Belaying Device
  • Climbing Shoes
  • Climbing Rope
  • Carabiners
  • Climbing Harness

Keep in mind that each type of rock climbing, such as trad-climbing, multi-pitching or ice climbing, may require a different set of climbing equipment.
