Climbing Ropes

Climbing Ropes

When you’re at the end of your rope, you need a rope you can trust.

In this section, I’ll try to show you the ropes when it comes to choosing the right climbing rope for your purposes.

All jokes aside, though, climbing ropes are no joke. And when you’re looking to own one, you will want to make an informed decision. You’ll want to know what the strengths and weaknesses are of the rope that you’re getting. Not all ropes are created equally.

If you’re a beginning climber, you may want to read my article on best climbing ropes for beginners to help you choose which rope to buy. In this guide I talk about different types of climbing ropes, such as single ropes, twin ropes and half ropes. I also talk about some other thing you need to take into consideration when choosing a rope, like it’s diameter, length and weight.

Speaking of weight, if you’re wondering how much weight a climbing rope can hold, this article is for you.

Lastly, I talk about the importance of renewing your rope on time. What are the red flags that signal that your climbing rope is past its sell-by date? How long do climbing ropes last if you use them infrequently? Or all the time? If you’re interested in such questions, check out my article on when to retire your climbing rope.
