That’s great, because you won’t have to carry them with you during long trips.
If, on the other hand, you’re going into the serious boondocks, or you plan to boulder outside often, I’d recommend getting a crash pad yourself.
If weight is an issue, know that there are lightweight variants on the market. The Metolius Shortstop, for example, is very portable, although of course light crash pads don’t have the same impact absorption capabilities as some of the heavier ones out there.
If space is the issue, try finding a pad that can be folded.
Some crash pads can be used as impromptu backpacks.
All crash pads can be used as a pad to crash on when mattresses are scarce ;)
